For our 100th release, we are extremely pleased to be bringing you this upcoming new album of mind-bending, pseudo liturgical and potentially lysergic electro acoustic compositions from Paris based, Belarusian composer Lina Filipovich, entitled “Magnificat”. This is an album of broken and obscured grandeur, partially incorporating heavily distressed classical music samples, in particular from Sergei Rachmaninov’s piece, “All-Night Vigil”. With its dark echoes of early Doctor Who episodes, and it’s bent and twisted, industrially tinged and distorted choral decay, it seems at times like an ominous soundtrack to an end of the world sci-fi film. Put your headphones on, and prepare to be lifted on high and smashed against the gates of heaven!
This album will be released in two distinct vinyl versions.
The Deluxe Limited Edition version comes in an edition of only 60 copies. Each modified, recycled, heavyweight Kraftboard record jacket is covered on the front with an ornate, hand printed version of an ancient book of religious sheet music, detailed and bordered in gold ink. On each cover is also adhered a distinctly different and unique, 75 year old duotone print from a scarce book on the religious sculptures of Michelangelo. On the back are pages of hand written religious sheet musics from a variety or eras, a strung and hanging, printed “Magnificat”, catholic prayer card, and the credits and track titles printed out on a rare Olympia cursive typewriter. As usual some rubber stamping is involved as well. Each record comes in a black polylined inner sleeve, and the whole package comes in a heavyweight, clear outer poly sleeve.
There is also a standard vinyl version in a printed jacket, in an edition of 100 copies.
As usual the copy you receive may or may not be the ones pictured.
This release will ship in mid October, 2021.
